Affordable Requirements Ordinance
DHED reports quarterly on the impact of this inclusionary zoning policy. To date, over $30 million dollars of "in lieu" of payments have been committed by residential development projects which trigger the requirement to either include affordable units or $100,000 per unit. Uses of these funds are designated for 60% towards the Chicago Low Income Housing Trust Fund and 40% towards other affordable housing uses. Learn more about it at the documents on the left.
